SeaQuest DSV: The Deluxe Edition, John Debney en Varèse
Esta serie futurista producida por Steven Spielberg y protagonizada por el gran Roy Scheider, cuyo nombre era SeaQuest DSV, se benefició, y mucho, de un inspiradísimo John Debney, al que Varèse Sarabande Records editó en su momento uno de sus agradables y cortos discos de 30 minutos de aquella época, muy disfrutable.
Es ahora, de nuevo Varèse, la que trae un doble disco que al fin hace JUSTICIA a la labora de John Debney, incluyendo toda la música del piloto de la serie (no aquella rancia media hora de marras) y en el segundo disco, una selección de la música de varios capítulos de la temporada uno.
El tema principal de esta serie es de antología, y le supuso del bueno de Debney su segundo Emmy al mejor main theme del año, todo un cántico épico y heroico a las aventuras del SeaQuest DSV y su tripulación (y uno de los mejores temas tanto del compositor como de la reciente historia de la televisión moderna).
Es esta una partitura épica y fantástica, con bellas y sugerentes melodías, poderosos cortes de acción y misteriosas piezas musicales que trasladan al oyente el espíritu de la serie futurista producida por Spielberg y que demuestran lo excelente compositor que es John Debney cuando está inspirando y se pone manos a la obra.
Limitada a 1.500 copias y al precio de 24,98$, para mí es una obligada, más cuando el original álbum de Varése Sarabande lo tengo, literalmente, quemado de escuchar.
