Scott Muller, un ladrón profesional, asalta la mansión del matrimonio Davis, haciéndose con todos los objetos de valor y con el diario de Mickey, la esposa. Muller se obsesiona con Mickey, planeando seducirla y hacer realidad sus más profundas fantasías. A partir de ese momento, su matrimonio comenzará a tambalearse.
