Quartet Records edita un box set titulado The Bad News Bears trilogy que recoge la música compuesta por Jerry Fielding para The Bad News Bears (Los picarones, 1976), el trabajo de Craig Safan para su secuela The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training (Dejenlos jugar, 1977) y el de Paul Chihara para su última entrega The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978).
- The Bad News Bears (Los picarones, 1976), dirigida por Michael Ritchie y protagonizada por Walter Matthau & Tatum O’Neal, cuenta como un antiguo jugador profesional de béisbol, famoso por su mal humor, se hace cargo de un equipo juvenil. Su intención es conseguir el título, pero, para ello, tienen que empezar por ganar su primer partido.
- The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training (Dejenlos jugar, 1977), dirigida por Michael Pressman y protagonizada por William Devane, Jackie Earle Haley y Clifton James, cuenta como un atribulado y rebelde adolescente conduce a su equipo de béisbol hacia a Houston donde jugarán un partido de exhibición. Ahí el chico se encuentra con su padre, que está separado de su madre, y lo contrata como entrenador de su equipo.
- The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978), dirigida por John Berry y protagonizada por Tony Curtis y Jackie Earle Haley, cuenta como un promotor de poca monta ve la oportunidad de hacer dinero en un club de béisbol. Así que después de llegar a un acuerdo con el equipo, todos van a Asia para competir con los campeones japoneses.
