La-La Land Records expande The Man with Golden Gun de John Barry
La-La Land Records parece haber desbloqueado el universo Bond, y tras habernos regalado todas las ediciones expandidas del David Arnold en combinación con Pierce Brosnan, ahora empieza a tocarle el turno a las obras clásicas, y especialmente las del Maestro John Barry, siendo en esta ocasión el título expandido The Man with the Golden Gun (El Hombre de la pistola de Oro, 1974), dirigida por Guy Hamilton y con el cinismo de Roger Moore como 007 y un villano a la altura de las circunstancias, el gran Christopher Lee como Francisco Scaramanga.
Para esta novena entrega del agente 007 (segunda a cargo de Roger Moore), el mayor aliciente es el asesino Scaramanga, así como las exóticas localizaciones, mucha ironía y algunas escenas de acción realmente brillantes,…ah, y claro está, Barry, John Barry.
Con un tema central brillante y rítmico, puro músculo y espectacular (que versionado para canción contaría con la vocalista Lulu y con letras de Don Black), Barry ofrece una partitura en su línea, donde ofrece el universo musical tan reconocible pero actualizado a los 70, con rock y jazz campando en el espectro sonoro.
Expandida y con mejor soniido que nunca, este doble CD está limitado a 5.000 copias y al precio de 31,98$, excusa para no dejar escapar una partitura brillante y llena de energía y poderío musical. Una joyita.
